Welcome to the studio Rick Hufnagel, Executive Director of Alliance for Suicide Prevention, and Rick Jenkins, Founder of THIRST. Educate yourself about suicide prevention, learn about resources available to our community, and be encouraged to know there is a network of support available to you in the fight against suicide.
Mortality rates of middle aged men have been steadily increasing in the last decade. One of the leading causes of this is the rise in suicide. We’ve talked about teen suicide on the show but, now it’s time to address this topic. Our mission is to support, educate, and offer solutions to our listeners. This week’s guests include Weld County Sherriff Steve Reams sharing his experiences with suicide and attempted suicide while working. Pastor Bryan Dwyer will talk about some of the external and internal causes of depression in men, and how families and friends can help loved ones. As always we will end with #LetsTalkPolitics.
This week we are focusing on Mental Health during the Holidays.
It’s something that many people and families struggle with all alone.
Here are some numbers that can save a life, offer support to someone who is suffering, or give a family members tools to help a loved one.
Make sure you tune in to our Mental Health show Friday December 9th 4pm MST or stop back later to listen to our Podcast.
When you know more about suicide and suicide prevention you can do more to prevent it. Hear how one couple is talking about the suicide of their daughter and helping their community.
